The Waccamaw Youth Center is the first and only low management home serving up to 20 boys ages 12-21 who have been abused, abandoned, and/or neglected and are in the custody of the Department of Social Services due to no fault of their own.
The seasons are changing and Waccamaw Youth Center is gearing up for the holidays!? It is that special time of year when?WYC?strives to brighten the spirits of the boys who call the Center home.? Every child dreams of being with family and friends on holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.? The community is asked to open their hearts?and show the children of the WYC?that they are loved and cared about.?
The Holiday Campaign is designed to boost awareness and support through the following activities:
?????????? a.? Online Angel Tree found at: www.waccamawyouthcenter.org
?????????? b.? Monetary Support Drive (This is to close budget gaps)
?????????? c.? Community Member Sponsored Activities, Meals, and Gifts
?????????? d.? Speaking Engagements and Community Awareness
????????????????????? 1.? If??anyone wishes to have a speaker for their group, business, church or other organization,?we will accomodate and have a representative attend the function or meeting.
?????????? e.? Collection Drives at Local Businesses
???????????f.?? Community Christmas Party
?????????? g.? Honorary Donation Program
?????????????????????? 1.? Donors may donate on someone?s behalf as a gift and a card is sent as notification.
???????????????????????2.? Donors can donate in honor of someone who has passed away and a card will be sent to notify the family.
Christmas for the youth?at the Center is based solely on donations.? This can be done with the continued support of the community!???Please consider?assisting in?WYC?s mission to provide ?A Place to Call Home? to the youth in care.
