Nvidia Project Shield: Yet Another Awesome Video
Last week we?ve talked a bit more about the Nvidia Project Shield, the hand-held console that got unveiled and showcased, back in January, at CES Las Vegas. The Shield needs no introduction at this point, assuming that you?ve followed us since the beginning of the year, but if you?re not familiar with the concept, Nvidia?s Shield is, once again, a Tegra 4-powered hand-held console that runs on Jelly Bean an can run not only Android games but it can also stream PC games, as long as your computer packs a GeForce graphics card.
Evidently, the streaming feature is the most interesting and last week we had the chance to see how Borderlands 2 on Steam works while streamed on the Shield, so we?re going to take a look at another game and discuss a few extra features.
Nvidia Project Shield
Nvidia has recently published a new video featuring the Project Shield in which we get to see Need for Speed: Most Wanted being streamed from a PC to the console itself.
Many enthusiasts have been asking whether or not the Shield works without Steam and if it can stream titles that haven?t been released on Valve?s platform, and in this latest video we got the answer. As expected, you can stream pretty much any PC game on your Shield as long as you have GFE (GeForce Experience) installed on your machine. The console itself will then detect all the games that you?ve installed on your PC and the titles will pop-up on the Shield?s game selection menu.
That?s pretty much it for now, but stay tuned and we?ll keep you posted. In the meantime, feel free to take a look at NFS: Most Wanted as ran by the Shield. Enjoy!
As far as the Nvidia Project Shield release date goes, the console is expected to hit shelves earlier than anticipated.
Thanks Slash Gear for the heads-up regarding the new Nvidia Project Shield video.
